Rent a Book - A Vanishing Trade ?
Hi All,

Is it a vanishing trade here in Singapore?

You will only see like NO ONE in the store , maybe a glimpse or the peering eyes of 1 person at the counter and THATS ALL !!!!

No one else go there anymore... is this true???

Kinda sad to see ONE-by-ONE closed down... haiz...

Your views please...

Hi Samsuri,

Hey yeah u are right! now that u'v mentioned it, i seem to realise it so.. sad huh.. i suppose it works last time coz libraries werent so well-stocked & accessible.. but with progress in technology, ppl hav more ways to get themselves a good read..

pity those in the business.. esp since lots of them are fr the older generation..

Hi Suhaila.

Thanks for agreeing.....

There's this one indian man stall , in a wet market at marine parade, beside the McDonalds. Do not know whether it's still there ?
Use to have alot of comics and novels.

Anybody can confirm this ?

Cheers!

back to the topic of rentals, i think now alot of rentals are going unpopular.. like renting of DVDs.. if people can download movies or borrow from library, they won't need the rental shops already..

I suppose the rental trade is going downhill..

I agree with you Suhaila !

Further more , there's always discounts on DVDs & VCDs.
And people can afford it!
Only media like the blu-ray is still expensive.

There's also a "Vending Machine" for Movies right ?
